Covid-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It is caused by a virus called Coronavirus. Symptoms can be mild, moderate, severe or fatal.

The Corona virus leading to Covid-19 can be spread through airborne droplets or surface contamination which is then transferred to the face by hands.

Contact transfer can be mitigated by:

• Regular hand washing
• Regular cleaning of surfaces and touch points

Airborne transmission can be limited by:

• Increasing the distance from an infectious person
• Reducing the time spent near an infectious person
• Physical barriers to stop airborne transmission

Specific policies have been developed and put in place to allow members access to the MNRS based on:

• Current laws for England laid down by the UK government (HMG)
• Current guidance from HMG
• A site specific risk assessment

All members visiting the MNRS must read and abide by the current policies, copies of which can be found below.

While the policy is aimed at reducing the risks of COVID-19 it is not possible to guarantee that the MNRS is COIVD-19 free.

Members should read the policy together with the risk assessment and make their own decision as to whether they believe it is safe for them to visit the station.

Any member who is shielding is strongly advised not to visit the station at the current time
